M2-103-1 loses AFS

It seems that m2-103-1 doesn't have an AFS connection, or somehow does
not properly boot. Anytime an AFS filesystem is accessed, there is a
timeout error, ie:
m2-103-1 % ls /afs
/afs not found (Connection timed out)
(This machine is not in a public cluster, if it matters.)
Any help would be appreciated.
