accomplishments past period:
- added functionality to proof of concept prototype such that one can view
an entire case including history tags and text.
- moved sponsorship of project to new director of support; held
conversation with director of support regarding project leadership and
future directions.
- trained fred baars on operational and administrative pieces currently
handled by oliver.
- held second brainstorming session working toward a specifications
document this time focusing on use cases; decided to move away from use
cases for now as they seemed most useful to designing new systems rather
than enhancing existing systems.
- met with rocklyn during week of 5/14 to assess whether/when east could
take on some of the maintenance and operational aspects of casetracker;
identified followup schedule of transition activities to happen later in
june.
- decided to add subcategories to system category in casetracker; one
subcategory will be used to track requests from new customers interested in
using casetracker in their areas.
- received drafts of administator documentation and functional and
interaction documents from p.galt and s.conti; currently reviewing these.
goals for coming period:
- carry out data warehouse download to refresh the lookup data; teach
process to fred baars
- determine how best to handle organization of all necessary documentation
including developer "how-to" documents, functional and interaction
documents, administrator and operator documents, etc.
- move email and web enhancements from test into production
- do preliminary tracking of expenses to facilitate the creation of a
casetracker budget should the decision be made to do so.
- determine timing for upgrading production machine to oracle 8.1.7
issues:
- some work will need to go into identifying how to transition pieces to
EAST, how to come to agreements that meet what EAST offers and what we need
done.
key learning:
- sometimes things just start falling into place
team dynamics:
- all is well with existing members; will need to introduce one additional
new member to the effort in early summer.
