Issues:
* Scheduling hardware upgrade time on the Production SAP systems in W91 is
complex. There's a great deal of deferred maintenance (firmware and
outstanding field change orders) that needs to be accomodated with
production downtime before we can install the NetBackup software in
W91. Balancing continuing reliability of the production systems and
expeditiously getting the hardware ready is a challenge.
Accomplishments Past Period:
* Continued maintence and operation of the E40 systems.
* Developed automated notification system to monitor the readiness of the E40
systems for backup operations.
* Proposed schedule for upgrading hardware in W91 for installation of
NetBackup to R3-Admin. Tentative agreement on first steps.
Goals for the Coming Period
* Begin hardware reconfiguration in W91 for the rollout.
* Determine dates for rollout of online db backups in E40.
* Develop requirements and strategy for web-based reporting of backup job
sucess and failure.
