Project Name: HR-Payroll Project
Project Leader: Dan Fitzgerald
Report Date: Dec 29, 2000
URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/hrpayroll/
General
----------
- Implementation of 1st HR module, Benefits, for next summer is underway. Five
team members are dedicated to this sub-project.
- Business process reviews for HR work in both central offices and DLC's is
starting up.
Accomplishments in January
-----------------------------------------
- A standing team, the Design Review Team, held their 1st 3 meetings in
January. This team has wide representation across MIT and Lincoln Lab. Their
purpose is to review and approve designs, whether they be related to process
changes or to system implementations.
- The applicant tracking Process Review team kicked off. Work will continue
through February.
- Project web site updated with more detailed timelines and recommendations
from Process Review teams.
- Selected Hunter Group as a management consultant to the project.
- Interactive Voice Response vendors being evaluated. Talx and Workscape are
the 2 SAP partners we are reviewing.
Goals for February
-------------------------
- Baseline configuration for Benefits module completed.
- Two SAP developers engaged full-time in supporting Benefits rollout for this
summer.
- Hunter Group working on project, contract and invoice stuff set up.
- Finalize SAP Enterprise and Personnel Structures.
Issues
--------
- For Benefits rollout, insure we allow enough time between system sizing and
hardware purchases, if required.
Additional comments
--------------------------
- It is the people issues that are always the hardest, not the system issues.
