Accomplishments for the past period:
- completed base installation of IPM with consultant's help
- addressed concerns expressed by the ITAG & Office Computing directors
regarding desktop access to the IPM services; no new desktop software
will be required; file submittal will be performed by KLPR or browser,
queue management will be accomplished via browser interface
- given the change in direction for supporting desktop access to IPM,
the Mac development effort has been scratched, and drafted changes
to IBM's Statement of Work (SoW) based on desktop access and other
subsequent changes
- developed solution (X Windows & SSH) for providing secured access to
the IPM server for the operator & sys admin IPM clients; confirmed
ability to replace IPM's deamon with klpd
- work continued on the 3827 to 3160 migration effort (target 12/1)
- acquired IPM application funding from Minai-Azary
- defined initial queue names for FSS and Admissions, and met
with FSS; worked on defining initial requirements for SIS upgrade
- completed first draft of accounting requirements; produced first
accounting report from IPM
- created Business Model outline; refined the phased rollout plan;
developed test plan chart
- started operator documentation and training
Goals for the coming period:
- test CAO printer with IPM; move CAO and E19-630 HP8100 from APS to IPM
- update WBS and timeline
- finish complete draft of the Business Model
- finalize accounting requirements and begin development
- finalize IBM contract for web interface (carry over)
- setup IPM for production
- meet with Alumni, SIS & Admissions
- begin planning for steady set transition
Issues:
The plan for providing administrative application support is still
undecided. This needs to be resolved ASAP. We assume this task
is owned by Bob & Roger with input from Peter & Karen. The team
would appreciate some forward movement on this issue.
The Business Modeling effort is approximately two months behind
schedule due to IS financial work.
ITAG is unable to produce a general public statement regarding secure
network printing at this time. We have enough agreement to move forward.

none
Team dynamics:
Kip Bruggeman is leaving the team to work on a new project closer
to his real work with Copy Tech. We'd like to thank Kip for his
willingness to work with IS on this project.
