Maybe it will work eventually, but I keep getting a sinking feeling
that these settlement things are going to be the "high level
structured assemblers" (remember those? how about program
verification? bubble memory?) of the networking world. A concept that
is understandably compelling to certain people, but gets usurped by a
much better idea (including that the need for the idea just sort of
disappears in new realities.)
I suppose what's making my nose twitch is that there's a difference
between needs and solutions, and I think the two are getting confused
here, expression of the need (problem) being offered as if it compels
a solution. Just the technical aspects of accounting and auditing seem
daunting to me.
