Dave and Mitch:

	Your letter to the community is right on the mark and very
well stated.  It would be ideal if we could ameliorate the current 
situation with everyone able to save face and come out a winner.

To this end, i'll reassert a suggestion I made back in June(?) of
this year. The *most* positive step that could be taken by ANS would be
for ANS to join the Commercial Internet eXchange as soon as possible.

	Many of my concerns would evaporate by ANS joining the CIX.  It
would also serve as a true litmus test of ANS's (and NSF's) intentions for
a "level playing field" in this nascent industry.
