ANTERIOR TECHNOLOGY OFFERS INTERNET GATEWAY SERVICE FOR CC:MAIL USERS

MENLO PARK, CALIF. (NOV. 13) - Anterior Technology is now providing a
gateway service that allows cc:Mail users to exchange electronic mail
and information with the Internet, UUCP/USENET and other networks.

Anterior's communication service gives cc:Mail local area networks
(LANs) and individual stand-alone users the ability to exchange
electronic mail using standard cc:Mail software. Users of cc:Mail can
correspond with millions of electronic mail users on the Internet and
other commercial electronic mail and information services, such as
MCI-Mail, AT&T Mail, and CompuServe without having to purchase
or maintain additional software, hardware, or service arrangements.

To gain access to Anterior's gateway service, a cc:Mail local area
network site uses cc:Mail Gateway to dial Anterior's post office
gateway. Individuals using cc:Mail Remote can connect directly and
exchange mail through the gateway service.

Lotus cc:Mail is the popular electronic mail package for IBM PCs and
widely used on Apple Macintoshes. The Internet is the largest wide
area network in the world, interconnecting researchers, defense
contractors, and users of commercial electronic mail systems.

To receive electronic mail from the Internet, a cc:Mail site
subscribing to Anterior's gateway service is assigned an Internet
domain name address. Correspondents on the Internet or other e-mail
systems send electronic mail messages to persons at the cc:Mail site
via Anterior's gateway using their native e-mail addressing format.

To send electronic mail to persons on the Internet, cc:Mail users at
subscribing sites simply specify the recipients' Internet domain style
addresses along with the remote "Internet" post office. The Internet
users appear to cc:Mail LAN users as if they are on another cc:Mail LAN.

The gateway service supports transfers of electronic mail containing
text, attached files, and facsimile items exported using the cc:Mail
Import/Export tools. USENET netnews groups can be distributed to
cc:Mail sites or individual users via the gateway service.

Through a connection to the Anterior RadioMail(tm) service, cc:Mail
users can receive wireless electronic mail notifications or complete
cc:Mail messages. Wireless cc:Mail message delivery can be local to a
metropolitan area, nationwide or international.

Anterior Technology is a communications services company, and has been
providing turnkey electronic mail gateway and information services
since 1988. In addition to cc:Mail, Internet and UUCP/USENET gateway
services, Anterior offers RadioMail, a wireless electronic mail and
information delivery service.
