Subj: RE: Stake of K-12 in HPC legislation
I heard from a reliable source this afternoon that a campaign started by
Dave Hughes on several networks around the nation brought such an
outpouring of phone calls and telegrams to the relevant congressional
offices that the role for the Department of Education in the HPC
legislation *HAS* been accepted by the Senate and written into the
Conference version of the legislation.
Final congressional action is expected within two weeks.
