I don't think you should omit Dave Farber from the original CSNET
longthinkers list. I recall having quite a few conversations with Dave
about such things in those days.
UCI was among the early CSNET connections (#4). Though UCI did was not
involved in any of the longthinking, this did provide a place for
Marshall Rose to get his feet wet in networking as a grad student.
So, CSNET was also (The First Network Exposed To Marshall T. Rose;-)
