ENGINEERING THE NII
The Clinton administration's initiative to implement a national
information infrastructure (NII) is rapidly moving ahead. The
NII is the logical conclusion of today's convergence of
hardware, software, and networking technologies. The driving
force of this convergence is the increasing digitization of data,
within such disciplines as Agile Manufacturing, Aerospace,
Environment, Healthcare and Education. It is estimated that the
NII will create as much as $300 billion annually in new sales
across these and other industries.
In engineering the NII and its applications private industry
will be responsible for virtually every major facet and the
information marketplace it creates. Private industry will build
and manage the networks, provide the information tools and
much of the information that travels the networks, and develop
the many applications that use the networks.
How can your company take advantage of the NII? What are
the directions and initiatives? Who are the leaders in
implementing the NII, and where will the funding come from?
What are the opportunities for getting your company and your
products on-line? How can your organization become a
successful partner to obtain a strategic business advantage?
This outstanding two-day conference brings together leading
