Let me get this straight. Hi, My name is Mark K. I used to work for
Merit. Now I work for the phone company. I want you the Internet provider
to connect to us the telco. You will pay us all the fee's for the
connection. We will not split the cost,share the cost etc. Look what we
can do for you ?
Mark you sound like one of the BORG from Star Trek NG. Get real. Why
would PSI, Alternet, Sprint or any other company HIRE you as their front
end? So you can provide small town Michigan, Ohio etc. So what? Your
company is trying to get the long distance market. If and when thats
granted I wonder where the Internet providers will stand? Lets see you
would have their customer list, you could under price them, this would be
an un-regulated market - Sort of like equal access for DATA. No way guys.
Its not a happening thing. I doubt that the phone company could setup and
maintain a decent site anyway and the last thing I would do would be to
get an account with you anyway. Its really neat to see the "Policy"
change in the last 12 months. Providers come to you asking to do this
very same thing and are quoted reg. BS all the time your planning on
doing the same thing yourselves. I love it. Customer Service and Trust
are not words that can be defined inside the telephone company. When you
hear an employee say "Prove it" . You all of a sudden remember that 99
percent of telco business goes on over the phone (Verbal) And telco's
love it.
I caution all the RBOC's - Alot of us are watching. We are waiting to see
how much risk you plan on taking. I am sure the lawyers will make money
in the end. If you continue to SLIME into the un-regulated market, with
advance planning-funding-etc from the REGULATED business, you will just
land in court.
And the NSF under very fair conditions wants to award a NAP to these
people ? Who the hell is sleeping with who ?
