Hmmm. Data Com is a McGraw hill magazine. Dionne the CEO of McGraw
Hill was on the Board of ANS last I knew. maybe there is some
positioning going on. And maybe given the protest of the vBNS ANS-MERIT
will get a third extension????
If so then given the continued squabbling and footdragging by NSF
perhaps they will just get extended into the next century.
But given a quick look at what we know right now, I don't see anything
to justify those conclusions.
