Good morning! Here's the description of the third panel, and names of
panelists. Yesterday's discussion on literacy should be very relevant to
what will be tackled here. We're having conference calls with the
panelists to help the prepare, so please let us know what you would like
them to be thinking about. A reminder: the Summit is on March 29th, in
Wash. DC from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Onsite registration is now full, with
500+ attending.

"Building Communities and The Economy"

What will the deployment of the NII mean for the well-being of our
communities and our economy? How will the economic benefits be
distributed? Supporters claim that the NII will generate new, high wage
jobs, but for whom? Where will those jobs be and what skills will be
needed to get them? And how many and what types of jobs will be
eliminated? What could the NII mean for the future of the workplace? Can
the NII become a tool for building sustainable communities and
comprehensive community planning? What kinds of information and policies
are necessary to encourage community economic development?
