OK, testers. Moment of truth coming up. Ridgeway says the GMA data
should be arriving about Thursday next. That is, June 8. Don't worry,
we don't have to load it right away. I'm still thinking June 13 for the
initial load. Are/will we be ready? We'll see at our meeting Monday
afternoon.

The Phantom Holdings bug seems to have been identified.

I'll be sending Acq. control file stuff down to Geac for installation
this weekend.

We're still waiting on the PO# in the Call No. field issue. It looks to
be a post GMA retrofit at this point. Also the $500 order limit issue
is still pending.

Ridgeway is asking that for a tweak that would allow us to use the
PIECES attribute 34 in the Pieces Summary Display for the display of the
Preservation note (currently the 966 $n to become the 852 $g).

We're also awaiting installation of transaction logging and fixing of
the Patron Claims returned function and the Lost Book function in Circ.

There are also still nasties in Fund Accounting and Authorities. We got
a ton of work to do with the Purchase Orders and Circ Notices.

But we have scrapped the idea of doing an O/S-DBMS upgrade so we should
have relatively continuous access to the machine until we go live (at
the expense of a few down days around Christmas.) Swapping the O/S-DBMS
without testing and then going live is actually a ridiculously risky thing
to do. I may be crazy but I'm not that brave.

The plan is to install the new GMA data, check it out very hard and
carefully. Get everything tweaked up, then re-load the GMA data and go
live before Greg is a director at I/S or I/T or whatever it will be.

"Great systems fast." -- I/T motto
"Live fast, die young, develop new vaporware." -- anonymous
"You can blame me." -- Ridgeway
"There better be a really good party at the end of this." -- Grant
