Drop dead issues

Stephen is right; this phantom holdings thing is a drop dead issue.

Also, shell-shocked as we are, we were too ready to chalk up Eric's
email yesterday to feverish delusion, i.e.:

Either the item record preservation note has got to work, or the
automatic translation of 866 fields to copy sets has got to work.
We have to be able to display and maintain serials summary holdings
statements in one of those two places. This is a drop dead issue.

Also, hard though it seems to be to generate sympathy (it's more like
lingering death): almost no aspect of authority control works
properly. We are heading for a maintenance nightmare if we can't get
these things fixed.

Jo
