Grant, as we discussed, here is the specification for changes to
provisional authority record creation. AdCat reviewed this today,
and gave me the go-ahead to send it to you...

CHANGES TO PROVISIONAL AUTHORITY RECORD CREATION
MIT Libraries / 11 May 1995
I. When a provisional authority record is created by the system,
the provisional authority record should contain certain default
values in the 008 field. The default values assigned should be as
follows.
I.A. When the authority heading will be coded as a 100 field in
the provisional authority record, the following values should be
assigned to the 008 field:
character position--default value

00-05--[date the provisional authority record is created, in the
form: yymmdd e.g. 950615 for June 15, 1995]

I.B. When the authority heading will be coded as a 110, 111, or
151 field in the provisional authority record, the following values
