I just go a call from Michel Ridgeway who advised me the programmers
said it would take about a week of difficult coding to get the Cancel
command record to work on serial records with copy sets. Its the copy
set cancellation that's the major issue. Deleting a copy set takes an
overnight run. He said that they will go ahead and price it anyway,
but, Michel suggested that we consider having the
loader just report out the Cancel transaction when it finds a match on a
record with a copy set. In other words, the report would prompt us to
do the cancellation of the copy set and record manually. If that's
the case, I'd expect that we'd just go ahead and do the Advance work
before we'd delete our holdings (DELH) our holdings on OCLC and the
report wouldn't be necessary.
