Eric has pointed out a number of -- well, shall I call them
"enhancements" [my favorite euphemism for corrections] needed in my
draft. Would somebody try this and see if it works?

It is possible to set up a host presenter profile for Barton.
This will allow you to connect directly to Barton's server without
first logging into Athena. Here's how to do it:

1. Open your LAN Workplace for Windows icon, or other icon if you've
moved Host Presenter on your machine. Now, double click on Host
Presenter. An Open Session box will open, with your default host
ready for you to log onto. Click on Cancel.

2. At the top of the Host Presenter window, click on Setup, and
change the session name to Barton and the host to emmy.mit.edu.

3. Within the Setup window, click on Emulator, and select
Keyboard. Be sure the Backspace Key is set for Backspace (not Delete)
and the Cursor key to Standard (not Application). Click on OK.

4. Still within the Setup window, click on Profile. Select Save As,
and change the File Name to emmy.php. Click on OK in the Save As
window, and again in the Setup window. You may now log into Barton.

5. The next time you wish to log in, you may open Host Presenter,
click on Load Profile, and select emmy.php.

OR

6. Return to the Program Manager. Open the group that you want
Barton to appear in. (For example, you can keep it as an option
within Lan Workplace, or put it in Applications if you have set that
up as a group.) At the top of the Program Manager window, click on
File and select New. Click on Program Item and OK. Change
Description to Barton and the Command line to c:\net\profile\emmy.php.
Click on OK.

7. TA DA! Next time you get the urge to open Barton, open
whatever group you put it in, and you'll see the icon.
