About 9:45 this morning emmy re-booted, probably as a result of the power
surge that took Barton out. After conferring with Geac I decided that the
chance of database corruption was fairly small. The alternative was to
restore the database to the last backup (last night).
If you were on the system (emmy/Advance) and entering information please
give it a check and let me know if there seems to be a problem with it. If
you were just searching the OPAC or just looking at stuff when the system
went down there shouldn't be a problem.
Naturally, we'll be a bit more careful on the live system and implement
either a uninteruptible power supply and/or transaction logging to allow a
more robust recovery.
