Grant, Eric, and others,
Thanks for the thoughts on Advance design. It's interesting that
Advance might be more colorful than it is. However, I agree with Grant
that in all likelihood Advance will be primarily for dial-up use. Black
& white is perfectly adequate to my mind, BUT, the issue I was raising
wasn't about being pretty, it was about being understandable. Anything
we can do in black and white to make the screen more visually
informative we should do. Is it possible, if other opac-libbers agree
on desirabilitly, to turn off the highlighting on the option line help
message? After all, on the initial search screen the searchable indexes
get highlighted, but the help messages do not. The idea Kate is
proposing is that this format should be carried through to the display
screens. Any public service people have feelings about this?
