Below is a portion of an email conversation between myself and Matt
Goldner, concerning complicated loan policies. Please be aware.
Looks like we'll have to set this up at Matt advises, which means for
some non-standard loan periods we'll be frequently overriding whatever
default due date/time appears. -AP

Also, here's something I don't think we've resolved yet. I remember
when I input the circ code definitions, there were some which I just
couldn't define using that table. (I regret that some of our circ
policies are so complicated.) For example, how do you input a circ
code definition of --
"2 hour loan, 3 renewals, 15 minute grace period.
Due first hour of next open day if time of charge is two hours or less
prior to local closing time Monday through Thursday. Dur first hour
Monday if time of charge is 2 hours or less prior to local closing
time on Friday, or if time of charge is anytime Saturday or Sunday.
Fine: $1./hour." (That's one loan policy for reserve.)

UNFORTUNATELY, CIRC CODES CANNOT MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON THE DAY OF THE WEEK
THE
ITEM CIRCS. THE ONLY WAY TO HANDLE THIS WOULD BE TO SET LINE 7) Overide use
period, ON
THE CIRC CODE TO YES. THIS WOULD THEN ASKE THE OPERATOR EVERY TIME WHETHER
THEY WANTED
TO ACCEPT THE SYSTEMS DUE DATE AND TIME OR OVERRIDE AND GIVE ONE OF THEIR OWN.
