ISSUE: MULTIVOLUME HOLDINGS

In looking over a few of the multivolume set records, Ray and I discovered
that the multivolume hierarchies are getting truncated in the holdings
display. I called MR to find out why this was happening and
after a brief investigation he immediately wrote up a problem report
for the Geac programmer, David Alexander.

Although I appreciate MR's responsiveness, I can see that this
is NOT the way for our Systems Office to keep control of the problem
reporting process. I'll contact Grant to see what he advises.

MIT reports a truncation of volume data from the migration. Evidently
852 creation is not properly parsing multi-levels.

See LCNs 10127331 10034098

Symptomatic is the number part having a partial part of the next
level truncated. For example, v. 19B pt when it should be v. 19B pt. 1
MIT's 966s reveal proper subfield hierachies for each level. The back-
transfer will need to be more clever.
