[Actually, the name "brief records" is misleading, but I don't know
what else to call us.]
Four of us on the Advance Circ group will be looking at circulation of
uncataloged items. Forrest, Larry, Irene and I will investigate:
-how to input brief records as used in the Music Library (and perhaps
other locations).
-Using Placeholders in Advance, to replace the current "TEMP record" procedure
-"conversion on the fly" -- i.e., making sure people know what to do
when a normal barcode, attached to a cataloged item, is scanned in
Check-out and the barcode turns out to be unlinked. (When this
happens, the "conv. on the fly" screen automatically appears.)
