Actually, looking just now at Advance, I realize that "edition"
classically would mean just that: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, whatever edition.  The
record I looked at in Barton just gave a date for edition: 1988.  True edition
information is probably best kept on the full display.  What I was
really referring to was separating out the publication date information
only.  In Advance's full displays it's labeled Pub. Date.  That makes
more sense.  If space permits, separating and labeling Pub. Date on the 
brief display might be helpful also.
