I just checked current Barton to see the brief display record. It
includes a separately labeled line for edition. We haven't discussed
date information yet that I remember. This would certainly be
important to have in the brief display. I like seeing it separated and
labeled "edition." It makes it very easy to find, visually.

I also want to pitch again for putting the physical description in the
brief record. The more I think about it, the more I feel this is
important, not just for format information. The physical description is
also very helpful to identify multi-volume works and items including
visual information like color illustrations, maps, portraits, etc. We
look for this type of information fairly frequently in Rotch. I am
concerned that Advance does not automatically prompt one to view the
full display, but instead defaults to the Holdings display option. This means
extra keystrokes, and just plain bother to gather that physical
description information if you have to keep back and forthing between
brief and full displays.

In terms of full displays, I agree with Nina about putting subjects
AFTER notes.
