We use the 4500 ISP and upgraded to 5.2 without any major problems. I
followed the special instructions for installing 5.2 on the Packetshaper
website, I understand that not doing so can cause problems. The issue I
had was with the new scheduling commands. For example, setting a
partition to 0k fixed no longer disables it. The ability to do that was
considered a program glitch, but It was a darn handy glitch to have
around.

Subject: Packetshaper 4500/PacketWise 5.2

Over the last few weeks, I have been trying to update our Packetshaper
to the new version of software (5.2.0). From the start I have had
nothing but problems. Each time having to revert back to the previous
version to get things running acceptably again. Prior updates have
generally gone smooth, but this one has been a real headache.

Symptoms: May show standard traffic volumes/patterns but in reality the
Internet connections stink. Or it just throttles traffic back so bad
that the connection is useless. Once I turn off shaping, things get
speedy. When I go back to the previous version, all with same traffic
tree, things go back to normal.

Has anyone out there, with a 4500 or other model, updated to the
PacketWise v5.2?
Experiences?
