Edward (et al.),
Try removing the following registry key and rebooting:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\
RemoteComputer\NameSpace\{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
In XP, (and any other computer with IE 6 installed), a scheduled
task tries to run every time you try to access a remote machine. This key
removal disables that.
I'm not 100% sure that this will fix your problem, but it still
should be a speed improvement with browsing remote machines.
