The closest thing to on-line forums that we have are the discussion
lists that some professors use in BlackBoard. I have been trying to get
the server folks to turn on public folders (we use Exchange for email)
for some time, but haven't had any luck yet. That might change soon,
however.

CNAVSystems Inc. (www.cnavsystems.com) was spun out of Gettysburg a
couple of years ago. Their CTO used to be our Vice-Provost for
Informtion Resources and CNAV is his baby. Their product has come a long
way and is starting to get more attention from the outside world. You
can get a limited view of it at http://cnav.gettysburg.edu, at least as
far as I know, that link is open to the world.
Their product is quite extensive and includes many modules, including
Parent CNAV, Alumni CNAV, a helpdesk system, inventory, and a lot of
other stuff.
