We currently run WebMail from Infinite (now owned by Captaris). It
worked well connecting to our Exchange 5.5 server in the past (needed a
connector supplied by them), and now works well with Exchange 2000 (no
connector needed). It has been ROCK SOLID (the only downtime it has
experienced has been due to a hardware failure of 2 disk drives...no
downtime due to the product in several years of running it. We are also
going to deploy Microsoft Outlook Web Access this spring, but that is
only useful if one is also using Exchange. I suspect that it will
replace WebMail simply because of the added interface to Exchange vs.
the IMAP only connection, but I would recommend WebMail to anyone who
needed a no hassle IMAP (or POP3) based webmail server.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

Subject: FW: Web based e-mail

Hi All,

Right now we have a web-based e-mail product called mailman which served
our
needs in the past and the price was right (FREE.) As we start to move
to
VPNs and increased network security, our Academic Director like to find
a
more robust package for people away from campus to use even if we have
to
pay for it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good web-based
e-mail
program?

        Diane
