Michael King asked, with regard to network management platforms,

Our campus subscribes to reports from the burton group and
they just did one on network management. Usually, I don't
like their (Burton's) work, but this one is better than most.

You need a PW to see more than the intro and table of contents.
I don't know if they sell individual reports or give out free
samples on request since someone higher up the food chain than
me decided to subscribe to the service. I just get it.

So, to answer the question directly, I'd recommend you look
at their report.

To put the Burton service in a little more perspective, if you
read "Network World" cover to cover then what Burton gives you
will seem like rehashed stuff. If you don't have time to do
that with network world, then services like Burton's are sort
of like Cliff Notes. [Sorry, Cliff].
