Hello,
I'm new to the list, so I figured I would toss in some useful information
regarding the status of disk maintenance and MacOS X enabled
systems. Having met with Apple yesterday, they told that they are
supporting disk maintenance / imaging research being conducted in concert
by several universities. You can read more information on this (and
possibly even sign-up to help with testing) at
http://www.macosxlabs.org. They admitted to knowing of no current plans by
anyone to develop a RevRdist application that will work with MacOS X. They
stated that the only apps currently supporting disk imaging of any kind
with MacOS X are Apple System Restore, HFSPax, and NetOctopus. Since at
BGSU we are looking into the possibility of converting to MacOS X in our
computer labs in the Fall of 2002, we are quite interested in any progress
being made with disk imaging and MacOS X. If anyone else has information
that they would care to share on this topic, I would be more than happy to
receive an email from you.
Thanks,
Jim
