Lindsay,
We are using Altiris Deployment Server for imaging labs. This consists of a
client/server model system with the ability to distribute the server
components to multiple systems.
The AClient component has an excellent feature for the labs. When it fires
up it will contact the deployment server and then wait for multicast clients
in the same LAN. After a little bit of negotiation, one client becomes the
master and pulls the image from the server and pushes this out to the
multicast clients in the same network.
Check out the products at www.altiris.com
Server components include a PXE server, SQL Backend, Console and Software
repository.
P.S. Compaq has a free 30day license with the purchase of a new machine for
imaging/deploying the new system.
