Loaded question :-). BMC / Remedy stuff can be super complicated and challe=
nging. It depends on what you want to do with it. The ability to customize =
is an awesome plus but also a challenge if you don't have the resources for=
it. Probably the big thing is just to know that you need a lot of staff re=
sources to wrangle it (whether an in house developer or a firm on contract.=
) It can be an expensive proposition to build up from scratch. If I was loo=
king at BMC / Remedy I would want to work on it in a consortium of some sor=
t to share costs (whether with other universities or just non-profits in th=
e area.)
At Duke we just switched from Remedy to ServiceNow =96 it's been a big swit=
ch but a good one IMO.
