We currently use it. We have been using it for the past several years. We o=
riginally switched to it for that exact reason (plus it's cheap). We switch=
ed from a self-hosted open source, very basic ticketing system called Liber=
um.

We are switching away from SchoolDude to Service Now. It's not at all confi=
gurable and includes a lot of stuff that we don't use. It was clearly built=
from a facilities standpoint. You can't hide the stuff you don't use. The =
screens are busy. You can't configure roles outside of what the built-in ro=
les are (and they suck). User management is a royal pain in the you know wh=
at. You can't configure "categories" (they call them "problem types") outsi=
de of what the built-in ones are (you can, however, choose which ones are a=
vailable to your users and techs).

If you're looking for something cheap, it gets the job done. The support is=
really good. You can export all tickets to Excel and do your own reporting=
 that way.

I don't recommend it unless you don't really have a choice and need somethi=
ng cheap and hosted.

Subject: [RESNET-L] Anyone using SchoolDude?

Is anyone out there using SchoolDude as an IT Management solution? If you =
have, how=92s the experience been? If not, did you have it and stop or was=
it not worth using for some reason?

Our Facilities Management team has been using SchoolDude for their work ord=
ers for the last 6 months, so we already have it on campus. We=92re curren=
tly using JIRA for tickets and our inventory system could use a lot of help=
.

Thanks,
Sean
