We had 7 new buildings that were wired for 4 ports per room. We only
activated 1 port to save over 100,000 on switches. After 3 years of calls
that the port was not working we finally put blank plates on all inactive
ports. It was a significant savings but I would avoid wiring inactive
ports in the future.
