We used to have this issue, but it seemed to resolve itself when we put all=
4 of our wireless controllers in one big cluster. That way they can share=
a session between them and don't have to negotiate a new one depending upo=
n which access point you move to. Not sure if that's entirely related. I =
think our problem was more apparent when you moved to a new building or sec=
tion of the building. Sometimes they would drop at a standstill, but it we=
 aren't having that problem anymore.

We are a WPA2-Enterprise, 802.1x, MS Radius/AD, Trapeze/Juniper campus.

Subject: Newer Macs Dropping Wireless

We've been hearing about an issue with Macs on our campus, mostly newer one=
s with Lion and above, dropping their wireless connections after an hour of=
being connected. We thought it might have been related to the lease time f=
rom our DHCP server. We had an hour lease on all wireless IP addresses. We =
have since increased it to 2 hours, but many of our students (including tho=
se who work for me) have mentioned it still drops after about an hour. If i=
t matters, we use Aruba for our wireless (though I am not really involved o=
n the network side of things, so I can't really tell you more than that).

PC's have no problems. Macs running Windows from a Boot Camp partition also=
 have no problems.

Has anyone else out there seen a similar issue? If so, how did you resolve =
it?

Thanks,
Jim
