Hi,
We used to always do a challenging game of Jeopardy on the last day
of training to test our students knowledge of what they learned during
the week.
Another fun Geek Olympics ice breaking idea is an Ethernet Cable
Making Relay Race. Buy a spool of bulk ethernet cable, RJ45
connectors, wire cutters, crimpers, cable testers, provide an RJ45
pinout diagram and set up teams and see who can make the most number
of working ethernet cables in a certain amount of time. You can
preface the game by providing a technical overview of
networking/cabling topologies/communications/terminology as a learning
activity.
As an incentive for the winning team, we would solicit prizes from our
local software/hardware vendors, our College campus dining, bookstore
and college activities as well as local neighborhood establishments.
