Ericom (http://www.ericom.com/) has some neat products for providing
browser based access for RDP and terminal services (TS) apps. We are
using it in our VCL (virtual computing lab) initiative to provide platform
agnostic access to View desktops and TS apps. It works with any browser
that supports HTML 5 web sockets. Safari and Chrome work out of the box,
Firefox and IE need some tweaking. PowerTerm WebConnect is the product
that supports TS apps. There may still be some weird UI issues using a
mouse/keyboard app on an iPad, but in general it seems to work Ok.
If you have any questions, let me know.

Subject: accessing Banner from an ipad

Hi all,
For the Banner schools out there.... are any of you accessing Banner
from iPads? I am trying to find the most efficient path to head down.
So far the one way people have been doing it is to use the VMware View
Client on the iPad to access a Windows7 virtual desktop. Seems a little
overkill to me. I am not a Banner person by any means but I heard that
they have free mobile apps available, can anyone speak to this?
Also, I thought there was some company out there that could virtualize
Windows apps and make them available on any device.... I think we would
need to be able to deliver a package that includes Internet Explorer
along with whatever flavor of Java is needed to run Banner.
Thanks for any advice you might have :-)
