We are implementing Microsoft's Service Manager 2010 as a part of SCCM. Wh=
en we looked at the product initially, we saw that there was an Analyst Por=
tal as well as an End-user Portal. However, we just discovered that the An=
alyst web portal only allows Change Management to be accessed, not Incident=
Management. Digging into this has revealed that Microsoft has not for the=
2010 version, and will not for the 2012 version, provided a web portal for=
Incident Management. They have released the source code for the Portal. =
There are 3rd party web interfaces being developed and released. I have al=
so seen mention that some are developing in-house Sharepoint portals.
We greatly desire a web portal as we currently have in Altiris and feel tha=
t a lack of a web portal for analysts is a regression in functionality.
We would appreciate comments from others who are using SCSM 2010, whether o=
r not the Analyst web portal is an issue, how that has been addressed and p=
erhaps your reasoning leading to the process you using.
