I am really excited about this thread. This issue has been a thorn in my side ever since we migrated to Windows 7. I use the CopyProfile unattend setting when running Sysprep, but the results are not the same as manually copying an account to Default User, like I did with XP. I see some interesting ideas in response to NickC's question, which I am anxious to try out. I will definitely report back with my findings.
Special thanks to NickC for asking the question!

Subject: Windows 7 Default User Modification
All,
We've tried a whole host of techniques for imaging Windows 7, and we've had a fair amount of success, but one thing that is a constant headache for us is trying to modify / customize the default user profile. We've found very comfortable work around (probably best practices anyway) for some things but there are other profile-specific changes that we need to make for every user who logs onto a machine, and just haven't found a good way to do that in Win 7 like we could with XP.
Does anyone have any success stories? Tips, tricks, techniques, third party solutions?
I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks!
