We do the same as Rogier noted. I strongly agree that, for any system, antivirus software is almost as important as regular OS/browser/plugin updates, so we also suggest visiting http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ on occasion.

Sophos is free for use on private Mac devices. Though arguably having users regularly update Java/Flash is going to keep them safer.
