At Scripps College we have some checkout iPad's and then we are supporting departmental iPad's.

Checkouts:
We've created an image that has a few apps like Quickoffice, Dropbox, Readdledocs, we also created a folder with some links to tutorials.
We use our IT iTunes account for this one and it is linked to my mac computer.  So lucky me I have to reset them every time they come back.

Departmental: 
They use their departmental email to create iTunes and then they buy their own apps.  WE sync their itunes acct with their office computer and show them how to download apps but that is about all we do.

A colleague at our sister college actually went out and bought one of those carts to manage multiple iPad's for their Trustee's.

We are about to start deploying iPads to different users on campus.  Most of these iPads have at least one and some several apps that are being purchased via the iTunes store for individual iPads.

Just as all software purchases come thru IT on campus , we want all iTunes app purchases to route thru IT.  

For those of you who have implemented the use of iPads on campus, how do you control the accounts on the iPads and the purchase and installation of apps on iPads?
