I haven't been able to figure this out either. If you install the addon prior to imaging, your clients still won't receive the updates until you click the link in the control panel.

Best thing I've come up with is pulling up http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70156 on the machines first boot. I have some other commands that run at the same time, so it wasn't a big burden to add this. It does require user interaction, but like you, I couldn't find a way around it.

Subject: [RESNET-L] Anyone figured out how to enable 'Microsoft Update' from the CLI/Script?

Greetings,
We all know that Windows 7 defaults to 'Windows Update' enabled, but there's the option to get 'updates for this and other Microsoft products' that enables 'Microsoft update'. I haven't been able to find a way to automatically toggle that in my images. Any thoughts?
With XP it was a matter of dropping a few files into $OEM$ and manually registering them in the postinstall.
