Margaret,

On our wired 802.1x system, we are using Mac-Auth-Bypass for the gaming systems. There is just no support from Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo to put 802.1x native. We are completely Cisco so I do know if other network systems support that. We have the students register their wired MAC address via a web interface and approval system. It has worked quite well for us and we support all the gaming systems as well as other entertainment devices like TVs, BluRay's, and TiVo's/DVR's.

Thanks,

Subject: 802.1x and gaming machines

We just switched to wired 802.1x and are having a lot of issues with gaming devises that can't talk 802.1x. The students are putting them behind routers, but we are seeing a lot of them timing out before they can get what they need.

Has anyone else had this issue or found a good fix?
