We incorporate ResNet's Geek Olympics during our training to break up the training days. The games are scheduled periodically during the 2.5 days we spend in training with our students.
I like the North Dakota ski race...but maybe that's regional. No offence intended toward our North Dakotan neighbors. You could just as easily call it a Montana ski race.
Needed materials: at least four 8-foot 2x4s, baling twine, tied into loops that are approximately 4 feet in length...enough for 2 per person on each team. Teams should be a minimum of 4 players. Place two 2x4s parallel to each other with the baling twine loops 1-2 feet apart on each 2x4; each team member stands with one foot on each each 2x4 with a baling twine loop in each hand. Object of the game is to move in unison, lifting the 2x4s and moving forward across a field, racing against at least 1 other team for the fastest speed to the finish line. It can be very fun to watch.
I tried to find the rules on-line but nothing came up in my search. I experienced my first North Dakota Ski Race at an annual College of Agriculture "Fun on the Farm" fund raiser here at Montana State University. We may have a photo in our archives, so contact me off line if you want to know more about this "ski race game." I think it's geeky enough to qualify for the Geek Olympics. We try to have team activities with the incentive of a prize for each winning team member (i.e., movie theater gift cards).

I have a few ideas that aren't really that great, but perhaps will spark a discussion:
Disk drive throw (like the discus)
Wireless Biathlon - running from station to station and you have to
connect a different device to a wireless network at each location
Monitor lifting (assuming you have some old, heavy ones).
Typing race
Any first-person-shooter game that allows team play
Data transfer race (who can move data from machine A to machine B the fastest
A talking to member of opposite sex competition (need judges for this)
