Steven,
I didn't used to require my student employees to wear name tags, but I star=
ted having issues with faculty and staff members wondering who this student=
was who was wanting to work on their computer which may have sensitive inf=
ormation. I went ahead and implemented them in an effort to avoid phone ca=
lls asking if said student was authorized to do the work. So far everythin=
g has worked out well and the number of calls I get has dropped significant=
ly. It also helps out with our visibility on campus and let's our constitu=
ents know we're out and about.

One of my techs just brought me an interesting idea: name tags for student =
employees, so customers can easily identify who is assisting them. I have =
no real intention of implementing this (...yet?), but I am curious if any o=
f you have your student employees wear name tags, and if you believe it hel=
ps with customer interactions.
