Hi Mike
We have consulted with those folks as well; we are looking for exemplars so we don't have to reinvent the wheel. Our thought was that others might be dealing with the same issues.
Thanks for the comments.

Hey Caroline,
I would consult with Penn's office of Audit, Compliance, and Privacy. I think some of this is going to be contingent on whether the information is behind PennKey/PennGroups authentication and authorization, but Privacy can tell you whether it's a better approach to simply limit the kind of info shared on College House websites or to make students obtain signed consent forms when sharing information about themselves and/or other students.

Subject: Consent forms for student data?
Hi Folks!
We are growing concerned about the data that students are putting up on our residential house websites. The sites are hosted on our hardware but the data is driven by the students who live and work in the residence.
Does anyone have a consent form that they have staff or residents sign for permission to put their data on our pages? Note that some of the this data is directory information so it is covered by FERPA but other data is not that. For example name and address would be directory info but posting where they like to hang out on Tuesdays isn't. We know how to deal pretty much with the FERPA data but not so about this other data.
For example we might have group pictures of resident events or information about house student staff like where they hang out or get their hair cut or their favorite place to study in the library.
I know this is a constant push\pull since it seems that students are comfortable revealing more data than some professional staff are comfortable with them revealing.
So any consent forms that folks would like to share?
Thanks!
Caroline
