We do a short 'one on one' session when the student picks up their
computer. We have them open, update and show how they would start a scan
with their Anti-virus plus Malwarebytes and Spybot. We counsel them to do
this at least once a month and also to make sure they have any important
files backed up securely. Many don't pay a lot of attention, but it has
cut back on the number of repeats significantly. This is a requirement for
picking up the computer. It's sometimes hard to enforce since many
students here work outside of school and rely on friends to pick up the
computer. We do have the requirement in the agreement we have them sign
when they bring it in.

with a tech when you clean up the viruses and malware from their PCs to
try to educate them about the problem?
