Kathy,

I agree with Erin. I have used the Voyager library circulation system at two schools (not here, though), and it is great for tracking loaned equipment. Loan durations and nag messages can be set based on the category of the item defined in the system. Having the bar code scanner tied in is handy too.

At Duke, we jumped on with the bandwagon with our Library circulation system. It does everything for us. I'd encourage you to ask your library folks and see if you can do  something with them.
